The Chinese Goji berry is a medicinal plant from the aubergine family and, as the name suggests, this shrub grows naturally in Asian countries. It is characterized mainly by its coral red fruits, called goji berries. It is these fruits that are loaded with active substances and nutrients, which is why their consumption is so very popular today.
Goji contains 18 types of amino acids, including the eight most important, essential amino acids - tohose being, for example, leucine, taurine, valine, tryptophan and arginine. It also contains over 20 trace elements, of which we can name iron, calcium, copper, zinc, selenium or germanium. The red color is then caused by another substance important to our body - carotenoids, the concentration of which in the dried goji is the same as in fresh carrots. And we must not forget about vitamins, such as vitain B1, B2, B6 or E.
